The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) has developed a way to transform biosolids into recyclable biochar. RMIT's pyrolysis (PYROCO) technology eliminates the risk of pathogenic microorganisms in the wastewater treatment by-product, reducing their threat to environmental health over time.
